6 Tools for Transformation

We are often asked by women what tools are available to aid in transformation. Many women on this path choose to let go of old patterns and to instead live in more alignment, happiness and grace.

It can be hard to change. So many of us learned to live in a way that was not in alignment with our higher self. Many of us were taught to deny our emotions and to be strong, some of us learned that showing anger was the way to get thints in life and some of us learned that being the victim was how to make others feel bad for you (this one was my greatest lesson!)

And for many of us, we come to a point of wanting to change. For ourselves, for our relationships, for our little ones. We come to a point of being ready to shift.

If this resonates with you and your journey, you may find some of these tools really helpful!

6 tools for transformation

The Enneagram - one of our personal favorite tools, the Enneagram is a powerful personality tool that helps us bring awareness to our incredible gifts as well as unhealthy traits. We love the Enneagram because it gives varying levels of health among types of personalities and gives practical tools to live in more alignment. We love the book The Wisdom of the Enneagram and highly recommend using that book to determine your personality type.

Studying the Chakras - the chakras are energy centers of the body and each one is affected by our lives, our beliefs and trauma. The most well known chakra system consists of 7 chakras, spanning from the base of the tailbone to the crown of the head. Our chakras affect how safe we feel in the world, our love life, our motivation, our sexual health, or ability to speak up and our connection to the divine. This is an incredible way to bring more awareness to the body and heal things from the subconscious. We love the book Eastern Body, Western Mind by Anodea Judith.

Learning Non-Violent Communication (NVC) - NVC is an incredible tool to learn how to speak and live more compassionately. Especially if you find that you hurt others with your words when triggered, this is an incredible tool. It essentially retrains us how to speak and express ourselves in ways that are compassionate, or non-violent. There are great books about NVC and there are also in person trainings around the world. We highly recommend NVC if you are struggling in your relationship.

Practicing Yoga - yoga is an incredible way to connect with the body on a physical level. While power yoga and hot yoga are the most prevalent in most areas, choosing classes that are a bit slower are often the best to connect with your body. We love Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Anusara Yoga and other types of yoga that focus on alignment, breath and letting go.

Using Tension and Trauma Release Exercise (TRE) - TRE is an incredible tool to help process trauma in the body. As humans, many of us hold onto tension and fear in the body and never really allow it to be released. TRE workshops are transformative because they provide a safe space to let go of trauma held in the body. There are also some really good books on TRE as well.

Connecting to the Womb - the womb, or uterus, is our seat of intuition and empowerment for women. As women, we tend to hold tension in the womb space and many of us have not ever connected to our wombs. Receiving a womb healing session or finding a practitioner that does Maya Abdominal Massage can be great ways to connect to this space and clear away the old.

We hope you enjoy these tools! Let us know which have been the most transformative for you.
