On October 19th and 20th, 2017, the Dark Moon rises in the sign of Libra. A time of balance, femininity, masculinity and relationships, this moon time offers us introspection.
The Dark Moon, or New Moon, is a time of reflection, stillness and releasing. A powerful time for women, this is the traditional time of menstruation in many cultures. This releasing and letting go that occurs both emotionally, energetically and physically allows us to remain in balance and in constant flow.
Libra, the governor of relationships, mixes into the pot.
Take a moment to think of your relationships, both romantic and beyond, and reflect on the flow of these relationships the last few days.
You may not be surprised to find that communication has been hindered slightly. In this sign, it is also normal for relationships to end, because this is a time of balance and that which does not encourage balance is asked to leave.
You may be feeling that in other aspects of your life. Things that have been a struggle or even stripping you of your own power are falling away now, creating new space.
Balance also starts within us and so on this New Moon, can you hold the mirror up and ask yourself, "What am I ready to let go of so I may live in more balance?"
Do you need to let go of your late nights, addictions or unhealthy habits to find balance? What are you willing to release in order to find this balanced place?
On this New Moon, I am also going to encourage you to connect to your relationship to self. Would you call yourself a friend? Do you take care of yourself? So often we look outside of ourselves for nourishment and happiness and we neglect the center of us. Can you also connect to your feminine and masculine spaces? Where in your life is it balanced to be feminine and where is it balanced to have more masculine traits?
You can also harness this Libra-eque moon time to connect to what type of relationships you would like to attract in your life. Take time to write out your ideal partner, friendship, etc. and allow this New Moon to cleanse away the old.
Above all, take time for you on this New Moon and allow yourself to do something, just for you. Take a hot bath, go for a walk under the changing leaves, take a nap in the middle of the day, read a good book, do anything that refills you! The New Moon offers you time to rest, honor that.
In lunar gratitude,
Cassandra
